Barney was first introduced to agility in 1988 at a 4H obedience/agility training class.  Joyce Zmek was the instructor.  I joined Pawprints shortly thereafter.

Barney was always steady and did all the obstacles, but his "run" was a trot, and he stopped in front of each jump and hopped over it.  Ahhh, the good old innocent days of semi-competitive agility.  LOL.

Barney only competed in one trial before retiring after it was pointed out to me that his hips were the reason he was having problems jumping.  The trial was Pawprints first USDAA trial (Fall,1989, I think)and Elizabeth Hezeau was the judge.  We earned a third place in pairs and I still have the tote bag given as a prize to prove it.  <G>

Barney competed even before USDAA registration numbers were used, so I have no proof of this claim.  All I do know is I owe a lot of pain, happiness, heartbreak and joy of agility to one sweet old dog with bad hips, bad breath, cloudy eyes and the courage to have put up with me all these years.

Barney (Chiuahuah-Poodle): The Senior Flintrock
Fred (Miniature Pinscher): Some titles, but I can't keep track of them--seven years to get the USDAA AD -- that I DO remember.
Pearl (Papillon): Retired before her time due to bad back; loves tracking!
Spark (Sheltie): Probably will be the death of me.
