Elizabeth Hezeau

At the time Ken Tatsch wanted to introduce agility, the new sport he saw in England, to the U.S. he was President of the Dallas Obedience Training Club and Elizabeth was the Training Director. Elizabeth also was teaching obedience classes at Richland college in Richardson, Texas. While the obedience club did not embrace agility until many years later the students that Elizabeth had in the community classes did. One of these students was Heather Smith. More from Elizabeth later......

Elizabeth and Ken traveled through out the state demonstrating the new sport. The first actual competition occurred in Houston during the Houston KC cluster. A team from Dallas, the Dallas Agility Working Group (DAWG) and a team from El Paso competed against each other. On the first day Dallas won the competition and on the 2nd day El Paso competed. More later.....

In the early competitions there was a timer, but no scribe, the judge wrote down the faults. There were flaggers on course also. More later.......

Editors Note: Elizabeth is rummaging through her boxes and photo albums for more to share with us soon!
