I installed 3/4" thick, Tenderfoot Rubber Floor Matting in my training facility in September and have been very pleased.  These 4'X 6' mats are advertised in the 2003 J&J Dog Supplies catalog (pg. 57) for use in agility training, fly ball, day-care, obedience, etc.  They are available in both 1/2" and 3/4" thicknesses.  They've proven to be super durable, easy to clean, and my husband and I were able to install them ourselves, saving those installation costs.  Unlike overlapping or some bevilled (sp?) edged  matting, the seams are not noticed by either handler or dog.  These mats have a ribbed and a smooth side.  Based on the advise of other facilities using these mats, we installed them smooth side up.  There's been very little slipping and the dogs seem to adjust to the surface very quickly. I've been running my own 3 border Collies on this surface for months and have not seen any burning of pads.  My dog's see both a chiropractor and a massage therapist almost monthly and there's been no physical evidence that the mats are too hard.  They feel kind of springy to me and are certainly softer that some of the hard dirt or hard dirt/grass surfaces on which we all run our dogs. They're not cheap!  However, if damage occurs I can replace the damaged mat only, instead of repairing or replacing rolled or poured flooring.  I've heard nothing but positive comments from students and others using the facility.
